Issue #0805/3 - Another apparent ploy being exploited by Lexmark in its attempts to salvage its flagging finances is to offer cashback deals on its mono laser printers that surpass most other offers seen to date, especially on single-function mono laser printers. For instance, the T640 series attracts a cashback of £200, while the T642 family attracts £300 and the T644 attracts a £350!
In terms of discounts, these represent a maximum 47% mark-down from RRP – but, they appear to apply exclusively to the UK! Is this a case of Lexmark dumping mono hardware into the UK; is Lexmark UK aiming to ingratiate itself with the user base; or is Lexmark UK so under par with meeting sales targets that it has to take desperate action?
For those who wish to take advantage, beware – the offer only runs till the end of March, 2008.
