Issue #0311/4 - Canon’s celebration of the sale of 10 million personal copiers is market by the launch of two new products, PC-D320 and PC-340 digital personal copiers that are added to the existing product range. Making the usual claims for new products of ‘fast’, ‘high quality’ and ‘affordable’ as personal copying solutions, these devices are based on a healthy 14ppm print engine and, impressively, the PC-D340 features a 50-sheet flatbed document feeder that is claimed to scan documents at a full 14ppm so that there is no loss of print speed when copying. This feature causes Canon to claim that the PC-D340 is ‘the fastest personal copier in its class’.
