Hewlett-Packard consumables price cuts benefit business colour users

Issue #0516/2 - Further benefits to business printer users – many laser toner prices are reduced and it is not just an exchange rate adjustment.

Price cuts to a selection of consumables in the Hewlett-Packard range benefit European owners of business machines and colour users in particular.

Although the changes affect only 18% of all consumable products, all are for business products and nearly two-thirds of laser products are affected. These include almost all colour toner cartridges for Colour LaserJet printers but slightly fewer black cartridges for those models.

Colour LaserJet models unaffected include the CLJ4500 /4550. However, the transfer and fuser kits do benefit from reductions. Other models unaffected include the CLJ4600, CLJ5500 and the CLJ9850MFP. None of these are current models.

Several mono LaserJet products benefit from the reductions – most notably, cartridges for a few of the very old products like the LaserJet II and some of the LaserJet 4 models. At the other end of the scale, some of the most recent products are also affected, such as the LaserJet 4250, 4350 and the 6-month-old LaserJet 4345 MFP.

Average reductions on prices for LaserJet products are 6%.

Inkjet products affected centre around two current models of DesignJet large format printers – DesignJet 5500 and DesignJet 4000. Also affected are the No. 84 and 85 series cartridges for several 6-ink DesignJet printers. These prices are reduced by an average of 2%.

Cartridges for only the Business Inkjet 3000 ink are reduced where inkjet office printers are concerned and no DeskJet or PhotoSmart inkjet printers benefit.
