Issue #0815/1 – With two new A3 colour MFPs (Hewlett-Packard CM6040F and Lexmark X945e) now available in the printer channel, there is more choice for organisations both in regard to which machine to adopt and also how to acquire the device. The most direct competitors from the copier channel are Canon’s iRC4580i, Konica Minolta’s bizhub C451, Kyocera’s KM-C4035E, Ricoh’s MPC4500, Sharp’s 4500N and Xerox’s WorkCentre 7655.

#0814/1 – Hewlett-Packard and Lexmark have both recently launched new high-speed colour MFPs, targeted at workgroups, that are available under the traditional printer hardware sale arrangement. The Hewlett-Packard Colour LaserJet CM6040 and the Lexmark X945e will both print at 40ppm in colour but have quite different paper handling characteristics and very different cost structures.

Does ColorLok paper offer inkjet printing the advantages claimed?

Issue #0811/1 - Colorlok technology is a paper formulation designed to provide bolder blacks, more vivid colours and faster drying time for inkjet printing than standard office papers, with high consistency and quality. So, we put it to the test and found that the differences are marginal and barely worth swapping for – unless you are not using a modern Hewlett-Packard printer or are able to source it at a lower price than your regular paper.
