Issue #0427/3 - Ricoh continues its onslaught, claiming its service levels are superior.

Tied in with the launch of several new mid-to-high-end colour laser printers, (CL1000N, CL2000, CL3100DN & CL7100) Ricoh is reiterating the attack it has made on several occasions recently—that its competitors do not offer adequate levels of service to customers. Ricoh claims that it is in its capability to provide “superior service and support that Ricoh can distinguish itself from the competition”.

Ricoh quite rightly points out that many users do not us a high proportion of the features and functionality provided in some of today’s devices. True also that many users recognise the need for higher levels of education and training.
However, whether Ricoh is capable of tackling this issue head on any better than any of the other manufacturers is probably a matter of opinion!
To attack in this manner though, does not give the right message.

In its 4th month of pricing adjustments in 7 months, Hewlett-Packard in Europe has shaved a few more percentage points off the pricing of many consumables for its printer and multifunction products.
