Issue #0405/3 - Canon has announced a new flagship photo inkjet printer, Bubble Jet i990, which incorporates new technologies, could prove to be the best yet and surpass all the current top machines. Hewlett-Packard, previously having tended to look to Epson as the major competitor, could now find Canon to be just as serious a contender with capabilities advancing as rapidly as purchase prices are falling. The i990 is priced at £229, compared to £210 for the Hewlett-Packard PhotoSmart 7960.
