Apparently an industry first, Canon has announced the launch of a new A3 format inkjet printer, Bubble Jet i9950, with 8-ink photo printing capability.
Dell claims worldwide printer shipments up 100% quarter on quarter

Claiming to have sold two million printers in Europe from their launch in the spring of 2003 to the end of December 2003, Dell indicates that it now sits in the number 3 position in the market for All-in-Ones in the US.

Epson introduced Red and Blue inks, together with individual ink tanks and additional connectivity options.
Hewlett-Packard introduced 8-ink PhotoRET Pro for true black and white photo-printing and true greys in colour photographs.
Canon has also moved more towards individual ink tanks and introduces a Red ink.
In all of these developments, we see smaller drop sizes and higher numbers of nozzles in the print heads for faster, higher quality printing.

From Canon comes a new flagship product, Bubble Jet i990, and from Epson comes a new entry level machine, Stylus Photo R200, that brings individual ink tank technology to the sub-£100 category.
