Issue #0323/1 - Canon’s new i250 and i350 ink jet printers are small, fast and capable. CPP is good for the class but not the best.
Issue #0323/2 - Hewlett-Packard again hits the streets with some very attractive new All-in-One offerings (OfficeJet 4110 and PSC 2175) and interesting new ink jet print media.
PC-less copying (and faxing) is always a good feature for the SOHO environment. The principle of saving space is very valid in any environment where space is at a premium and especially as average house sizes reduce and values increase.
Issue #0323/3 - Xerox ships high value and is fair to the customer in its new laser printer.
Two hundred and forty two pounds will buy the new low cost 16ppm mono laser printer just announced by Xerox. Targeted at small workgroups and individual users, the Phaser 3130 claims to offer ‘prompt’ first page out times and to be very easy to use with a mono-component toner cartridge.
Issue #0323/4 - Does the average customer know what is being supplied when buying a printer? Is the customer in for a surprise when the first cartridge runs out and are customers being treated fairly.
Issue #0322/1 - Every effort is made to persuade customers to buy particular brands. Hewlett-Packard is no exception and takes this activity very seriously. Several promotions may run at one time.
